Our very own Leah Legacy talks to some friendly folks in downtown Fredericton during Random Act of Kindness Day! In the spirit of the day, we gave a few things away as well!

Random Act of Kindness Day was started in 2008 by The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation to bring communities together by encouraging people to participate in small acts of kindness. Since then it has grown and many people, businesses and communities alike, have enthusiastically jumped on board.
RAK Day is a great opportunity to do something kind for someone else. It’s about building our communities! It isn’t a fundraising event either, this is just purely for the good of our communities. We often forget as we walk down our streets or through our stores that we always have the ability to make someone’s day brighter. Random Acts of Kindness day helps remind us that things like this don’t have to be a one time thing.
The event is supported by many businesses in the city and is driven by the Fredericton Community Foundation, they encourage people to pick up a RAK card which is a little card you give to the person you do an act of kindness for. They then give the card to the next person and the hopes is that it cycles.
It was evident as Leah Legacy gave out just simple free coffees curtesy of Reads Newsstand downtown, how a little kindness goes a long way. People smiled, laughed and seemed truly thankful to have a stranger think of them.
Let’s carry this on daily in our communities and around the world, we can make the world a more friendly place!
